I think this is the most breathtaking drawing I've ever seen (printed). First thing I'll do if I evermanage to go to New York is go and meet the lady in person at the Metropolitan Museum.
It's the study for the Libyan Sibyl that Michaelangelo painted in the Sixtina Chapel in the Vatican.

It's funny how the final rendering of the painting does not produce the same effect on me as this drawing. Her expression shows to me in a way that I cannot explain the whole point of art in this planet. You can see the finished painting here.

Favourites

I'm starting my list of favourites miscellanea with Edward Monkton. I love his illustration style and the texts in his cards are so funny.
His website is http://www.edwardmonkton.com/.
You can download wallpapers and a screensaver. I bought some of his cards when I spent some time in England. The pig of happiness, the zen dog and the killer penguin are such fun characters.

Hello dear,

I am the first post of this new blog. I'm not sure if anyone will ever be reading me. The persons who wrote me is a regular reader of several blogs in the web.

Shhhh...I'll take it from there myself, thanks.

Well, yes, there are some blogs out there that I really enjoy reading. I've come to realize that the main fabric of blogland is not HTML, RSS, JPG...but generosity and life experience as you see it. Sometimes I feel like leaving a comment here and there, but that means becoming Ms. anonymous, a really weird thing to be indeed. I'm starting this blog so that you can know me better and I hope I can also share some of my favourite things with you. So...
